The Social Worker (Program Coordinator) serves as the Director, Addiction Treatment Center (ATC) in the Mental Health Service Line. In this capacity, the incumbent manages the administrative and clinical aspects of the major specialty treatment programs at multiple divisions of this facility. The program serves Veterans with complex substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for developing, planning, clarifying, administering and managing Addiction Treatment Center and Mental Health Service Line priorities and objectives and ensuring the supervision and evaluation of all subordinate staff Coordinate strategic planning for homeless Veteran services, including establishment of long and short-range goals, development of policies and procedures to ensure goal attainment, management of administrative and programmatic resources (including budgetary management of multiple fund control points), and outcomes monitoring using data-driven quality assurance processes Provide supervision for subordinate staff to qualify for licensure Ensures the staff supervised are aware of and adhere to all current directives of VHA and meet relevant accreditation standards Conducts ongoing reviews and appraisals to ensure the accomplishment of objectives and adherence to standards set by governing bodies Develop, enhance, and track new initiatives, monitor staff effectiveness, and modify as needed to meet the program needs Serves as the liaison to other services or care lines, other facilities, VISN offices and VHA Central Office Homeless Program Office and provides consultation to facility leadership, managers, and other staff on issues related to homeless Veterans including best practices, competencies, and community initiatives. Also serves as the primary VAPSHCS liaison to community partners, local governmental agencies, public housing authorities, and other community service providers and systems on issues pertaining to Veteran homelessness Performs the administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised Assigns work, establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff, and communicates with them through the formal employee performance management system Works with administrative and clinical staff to manage consults and outreach efforts across the Puget Sound region Resolves informal complaints and grievances and develop process and procedures for handling complaints in all areas of Puget Sound Develops work improvement plans, recommending personnel actions as necessary Provides advice and counsel to workers related to work and administrative matters. Effects disciplinary measures as appropriate to the authority delegated in this area. Reviews and approves or disapproves leave requests Serves as the medical center's primary point of contact for the VACO Mental Health office as it the inquiries pertain to Substance Use Disorders Works with program supervisors to ensure that screenings for all Veterans referred to ATC are consistent with Joint Commission and, if needed, CARF standards Actively participates in program planning and development, advising facility, VISN, and VACO leadership of shifting trends and identifying the need for and making recommendations on program operations or policy changes based on work experiences Participates in National VA Addictions conference calls and participates in other relevant conference calls, committees, and/or meetings as assigned Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, evenings/ weekends may be part of the job Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
