This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The Occupational Therapist (OT) serves as a staff therapist. The therapist provides patient care and works independently with the service chief being available for consultation as needed for clinical direction. General duties include, but are not limited to the following: Assessment: Evaluates factors affecting activities of daily living (ADL), instrumental activities of daily living, education, work, play leisure, and social participation. Tests and measures may included the following: Arousal, attention and cognition Assistive technology and adaptive devices Circulation (arterial, venous, lymphatic) Cultural, physical, environment, social, and spiritual contexts and activity demands that affect performance Environmental home, and work (job/school/play)safety and barriers Ergonomics and body mechanics Feeding, eating, and swallowing to enable eating and feeding performance Functional Independence Measure (FIM) Dressing Changes for post-op hand patients Participation in pain management activities Electrotherapeutic modalities Supervise work-study students and volunteers assigned to Occupational Therapy Ensures proper supply inventory levels are maintained for patient treatment Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm; Monday - Friday Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Telework: Not Authorized Virtual: This is not a virtual position
