This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The SUD/PTSD Specialist will work as a member of the PTSD Clinical Team (PCT) and be supervised by the PCT Program Manager. Duties include providing diagnostic interviews, assessments, individual and group psychotherapy, including Telemental Health, for adult patients with trauma exposure across the lifespan. The SUD-PTSD specialist will primarily coordinate treatment planning and delivery of services that best meet the needs of patients diagnosed with co-occurring PTSD and SUD as well as provide expertise and consultation for SUD/PTSD treatment and serve as a liaison with Addiction Treatment Services. Additional responsibilities include multidisciplinary consultation and participation in the psychology practicum student, intern, and postdoctoral fellow training program (i.e., teaching seminars in the Training Program; supervising interns and post-doctoral fellows). Training and experience in evidence based trauma therapy is preferred, in particular Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Most duties will be performed at the Murfreesboro campus, there may be options for 1-2 days at the Nashville campus and/or 1-2 days telework.
