You could be part of an important initiative to provide mental health care for our nations Veterans! The Mental Health (MH) Outpatient Clinic provides mental health services and support to Veterans through the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) Teams model of care. BHIP provides a foundation for collaborative teams of mental health professionals who work together to provide veteran centered care, care coordination, and access to mental health care. The practice of the RN in the clinical setting encompasses a broad array of clinical activities including but not limited to, health promotion and health maintenance; care coordination, intake screening, evaluation and triage; case management; suicide assessment and safety planning; treatment planning; psychoeducation; psychoeducation health groups; assist with policy development; clinical reminders; provision of therapeutic and safe environments; promotion of self-care activities; administration of psychobiological treatment regimens and monitoring response and effects; crisis intervention and stabilization; and psychiatric rehabilitation. The work of the MH Outpatient Clinic RN is evidence based, and accomplished through the nurse-client relationship, therapeutic intervention skills, and professional attributes. These attributes include but are not limited to self-awareness, empathy, and moral integrity which enable the nurse to practice the artful use of self in therapeutic relationships. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and/or adjusted tours as needed to ensure quality care to Veterans.
