The Incumbent serves as the Psychologist for Intensive Community Mental Health Recovery Services (ICMHRS) Psychology which is an area of psychological services provided for Veterans with serious mental illness. The Psychologist serves on a multidisciplinary team which includes the clinical operations of Social Workers, RNs, and a Physician Assistant. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The incumbent offers a full range of psychological services such as psychological assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, brief interventions, psychoeducational services, and consultation. They utilize validated methods and collaborate with other professionals within the medical center when providing these services. They are responsible for using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care. They have direct responsibility for all aspects of psychological services in the program, including those conducted by trainees and staff. They consult with and serve as a resource for other professional personnel concerning the need for and development of psychological services. May hold faculty appointment at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Provide clinical consultation to various disciplines and levels of training, including practicum students, pre-doctoral students, post-doctoral students, medical school students, residents. Involved in the Psychology Training Program and Training Committee. Involved in the training of medical students, medical and psychiatric residents, nursing students and fellows, as appropriate. Provide leadership, guidance, and consultation on staff education and development. Orients, teach, and serves as a consultant to other Medical Center staff and trainees and assists in their formulation of the psychological characteristics and appropriate treatment expectations regarding their patients during medical treatment. Has indirect responsibility for ensuring compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies such as the Joint Commission and CARF. Consults with others to offer guidance and stimulation in research directions for the program. Plans and oversees the completion of research programs, designed to provide information regarding program planning and relevant treatment approaches. Assists in ensuring that program services meet the requirements of the Uniform Mental Health Services Handbook.
