The primary location for the work will be in the emergency department, however, the Nurse Practitioner may also be called upon to provide care across the facility as part of the C-L team. The C- L Nurse Practitioner completes complex mental health assessments, provides intensive case management services and psychotherapy to Veterans. Facilitates assignment to mental health services such as general psychiatric outpatient services, acute inpatient psychiatric services, substance use disorder outpatient services, substance use disorder acute inpatient services, opioid replacement services, geriatric outpatient services, geriatric acute inpatient services, domiciliary placement services, HUD/Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD/VASH) homeless services, Health Care for Homeless Veteran (HCHV) homeless services, Grant Per Diem (GPD) services, Trauma services, Intensive Community Mental Health Recovery (ICMHR) services, telepsychiatry, or other mental health services offered by VANTHCS. Incumbent's responsibilities commonly involve providing mental health consultation for providers in other disciplines, and may also involve supervising pre-doctoral and post-doctoral trainees and/or health care professional students, and/or postdoctoral fellows within the VA North Texas Health Care System. Additional administrative duties may be assigned by the team leadership based on Mental Health Service needs. Work Schedule: One position: Wednesday and Thursday: 1:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Friday: 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. One position: Sunday: 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Monday: 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and Tuesday and Wednesday: 1:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
