The incumbent has primary assignment in the support of behavioral health services to primary care patients as part of the Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) Program. This is one of the functional units providing psychological services to the Mental Health Service/Eastern Colorado Health Care System and functions as part of an interdisciplinary team. The Eastern Colorado Veterans Health Care System, is currently recruiting for two (2) Mental Health Providers for the PFC Floyd K. Lindstrom in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Incumbent possesses knowledge in diagnostic issues related to psychological disorders resulting from or intensified by injury or disease. Incumbent has knowledge of and skill in the uses of psychological assessment, psycho-diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapy. Possesses specialized knowledge of evidenced based treatment for general behavioral health problems (e.g. depression and anxiety) and areas of behavioral medicine (e.g. chronic pain, obesity and sleep problems). The LPMHC will complete biopsychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, provide emergency evaluations requested by primary care providers and complete suicide evaluations and safety plans. Incumbent will utilize evidenced based therapies to address brief, problem focused issues. The incumbent will provide timely and succinct feedback to primary care providers regarding findings and recommendations. The incumbent will complete documentation of care in patient's medical record in no less than 24 hours after sessions.
