The Senior Social Worker is responsible for providing clinical evidence-based services including, assessments and interventions, program development, resource development, continuous quality improvement activities, evaluation/consultation and case management services to the Veterans in the Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation and Treatment Program (MHRRTP). The Senior social worker primary responsibilities are to provide clinical evidence-based services and interventions, including but not limited to individual, group, and family counseling and advanced level case management interventions used in the treatment of veterans with mental health diagnoses, substance use disorders, traumatic brain injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other serious disorders; program development, Veteran and staff education on community resources; community outreach; resource development; continuous quality-improvement activities and evaluation. Develops psychosocial treatment and comprehensive discharge plans in coordination with interdisciplinary team members, including goals for psychosocial clinical treatment. Provides independent consultation and makes recommendations to interdisciplinary team on course of treatment. Evaluates his/her practice as a social worker on an on-going basis through participation in professional peer review, case conferences, research studies or other organized means. Is active in and accepts responsibility for the development and maintenance of professional standards of treatment.
